With an album on the way, I decided to make a quick update video on what's going on. I did change my alias to False South, and I believe that this will be the last name change (hopefully).

Enjoy the video, and send/comment some questions that you may have :D

Just to eliminate some confusion, I changed my alias. I changed my alias to "Sole Straggler", primarily because I wanted to come up with a unique and suitable name for my content that can be easily found when searched.

I hope to release some great content for you guys under this name. Here's my first release under the new name:

Hope you guys enjoy the new remix of Panda Eyes' track!

Thanks for all the support throughout my first phase of music production everyone :D

So 2018 is finally here.

I think now is an appropriate time for an update.

I have been working on revamping my mixing and mastering process so that I can work more efficiently. There have been some revelations in mixing and mastering techniques as well, which I am pleased with. There is still more to be done.

In regards to the recent EP, "Night of the Living Dub", I feel confident that the production quality from now on will be better than the quality of the EP, thanks to the feedback of my collegues and my own empirical work since the release.

Collaborations have been interesting in 2017:

- Drewpy and I have released "Haze", an interesting hybrid of styles on his incredible EP: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/780173

- N I V L E K and I released "Strange", another fun project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_bMt7dJ_F4

- Over half a year ago, Mastercode and I released "Constipated", which was incrediblely awesome to work on: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/745364

I really want to thank all of those people who have given me tremendous amounts of constructive feedback and support throughout last year. I feel more confident in uploading projects now that I have started applying this feedback to my work.

I will be writing some exams very soon, so I will definitely get busy with more music projects after those are complete.

In terms of other commitments, I am not even remotely close to an "all eggs in one basket" type of person. I am trying to do the best in my secondary education, family life, and extracirriculars, while incorporating inspiration into rough drafts of songs so that I may return to them when I can.

In 2017, I have met some of the most incredible people that I had the opportunity to spend my days with. I'm certain this claim is very subjective, so what I can say objectively is that true friends are constructive and critical in the best way possible.

2017 has also been a year of early philosophical phases. Arguably some of it is just adolecence doing it's thing, but it has still helped with navigating life.

A funny thing is the coincidental relevence of my english class in regards to key moments in my life. As soon I had a significant confrontation, my English cirriculum would be there to clarify it unintentionally. That helped a ton.

My life undoubtedly impacted the direction that my music has been going. I have also started writing lyrics, which I don't necessarily think will be in future projects until I practice it more and perhaps make revisions; however, that has been another activity related to music that has begun.

I may also consider singing on my own work, but that's a descision for a little later.

The plan for this year is simple. I will continue to release my work here and on my various pages. I'm aiming to participate in contests this year. I will be looking into music theory since that aspect of music production should always be investigated further. Beyond that, I will continue to develop my craft and make the most out of this aspect of my life.

My first project of the year has been released on Sound Cloud (Will make a YT release when I can):

Expect my future releases to be at least at this level of mixing quality.

Thank you all for everything you have contributed, whether you have inspired me, critiqued my work, or impacted my life in a way that has contributed to who I am today.

P.S. If you have any questions, comments, or anything, feel free to comment here or send a message.

I am not dead (I promise). In fact, I am just about caught up with YouTube uploads now.

I have about 7 projects completed (the mixes are being modified a little for 2 of them).

I think I have improved quite a lot recently, but I have not had the time to put together everything for uploading to all of my profiles...

UNTIL NOW!

Hopefully, I will pump out several unique tracks throughout this weekend/next week (I will not spam all at once.. unless I decide to group several tracks into an EP). I am really excited to gain more feedback from you guys so I can continue to improve. Thanks to everyone who has given me valuable feedback and advice so far.

I am actually quite interested in collabing at the moment. I don't have much time really, but seeing Fiction (a collaborative project created by three of my colleagues) work out is kind of inspiring. It is nice to see ambitious projects like that completed. I am sure they learned quite a lot from making it. So if anyone is interested (regardless of how long it may take), you can let me know. I cannot guarantee success, but everyone should practice their collaborative skills from time to time.

Once again, thanks to everyone who gives me feedback and support. It is so helpful; I cannot stress that enough!

My music name is now Chael and I decided to compile an EP with this new name. (all the songs are on NG as well)

Cover Art for The Depths by: https://soundcloud.com/drewpy-l

This is my first true EP (an EP is basically a small album):

It includes 4 tracks that I have recently created. Sorry it's been a while since I uploaded a full song :P

The theme is mainly the ominous depths of life and the good, bad and ugly parts of it. You may also notice that the piano is prominent in the songs in some form.

The EP is in chronological order (of production):

Track 1: Ominous

Track 2: With You

Track 3: The Depths (Name of EP as well)

Track 4: Area 51

I really hope you guys enjoy this EP because I worked hard on all 4 of these tracks (The Depths was a laggy project)

These tracks may be used on YouTube for your videos; however, do not for get to credit me (Chael) ;)

Thanks!!
