Was that a goat at the beginning? xD

I like the way this sounds because it is far from generic in my opinion and it has a nice atmosphere too

KamillasRainbow responds:

Thanks...and that's not a goat, thats a creature from subnautica xD

Sounds really cool but I feel like the first build up went off a cliff and never came back. It was kind of cool though. Either way I think this was decent :)

Keep it up!

Drewpy responds:

Thanks bud

Yeah this was pretty awesome besides the hihat issue.... I feel like everyone can make DnB but me xD

I know this sounds stupid but double check that you uploaded the updated file with the hi hat change... if that doesn't help I have no idea what to say...

:/

Lubloom responds:

I changed it 3 times yesterday and twice today (English time, btw), and after clearing my cache and retrying, the issue is now fixed. :D

Sound design is pretty awesome :D

all you need is some epic composition and more kinds of sounds :D

MollusK-Music responds:

Thanks, man. If you've seen any of my other posts, you would mist likely know I take great pride in my sound design. So, that means a lot. I would have loved to use a wide variety of sounds. But, like I said, the challenge was 10 minutes so I didn't have time to make more than a couple sounds. If I sacrificed anything to make the time, it would have been mixing and mastering, and that is a no-no. Especially when you're like me and forget that your monitors balance audio, so you add way too much sub.

Thanks for the review though. Cheers c:

Impacts are way too loud, watch out for that. The growls are a little too much so try to vary with the drops. Also try to make the drop similar to the melody.

This is pretty good actually.

It only lacks power that can be gained with experience.

Keep it up!

DJ-Zyzyx responds:

I also need to learn how to Make an EQ so it changes... And I need better synths xd

For dubstep it is not that powerful, but I like this a lot :)

All it needs is some impacts, reverse cymbals, normal cymbals (xD), filters, and risers that can make it more suspenseful. (Plus stronger dubstep sounds but it is still great as just a song)

This is actually one of my favourite things I have heard on NG that is not from a popular artist.
Thanks for redirecting me to this, it was definitely worth listening to :D

Lubloom responds:

I was going for a more chillstep-esque song with this one, though it is still not very powerful, and I'm glad you do.

I don't have many good cymbal packs, so if you have any recommendations I'd appreciate them.

This is my favourite song that was by me (that sounds a little weird, but I genuinely was impressed that I made it :P). You're welcome, and thanks for being a very good reviewer and offering constructive feedback for me :)

I hate to be the one to say it... but this is kind of repetitive and overrated. I don't know how it got featured. The instruments need more backup than just that Bell (IDK how else to identify it) sound that gets irritating by the end of the song. It needs more supporting instruments. Some piano or other plucks or other fitting sounds. You need to learn to make a build up. That is crucial. As for the drop, you just need more variation. Nothing really blends in the drop. Use the mixer to blend the song the best you can (assign each instrument to a track and . That way it will sound cleaner. The bass is just too simple (I know you said it's simple so no big deal). You also made the mistake of using the main FL kick... just don't. Get some packs with percussion instruments (Hats kicks snares etc). Don't worry I used that kick too when I started with FL.

I hope this is the kind of criticism you were looking for. Music quality just takes time and exposure to other works and experience. You will get better.

You should make your own soundcloud account anyways and post your songs there. You should try to expose yourself as much as you can (without being annoying) so you can work with others around your level. For me, I found a bunch of people that I work with and we all give each other advice etc.

I know all this is quite a bit to take in, but you should try to apply this information (doesn't have to be all at once). Always try to do something better every song.

Oh yeah one more thing: if you find a song is really hard to work with or you just don't feel inspired to work on it, then don't work on it. But still try to finish projects if you can. Otherwise you will feel like you can never complete a project.

Good luck.

:D

Lubloom responds:

Yes, I kind of agree, though I had no part in it being overrated and featured, that is the communities decision. This is definitely not my best work, check out moonshine (which is much better imo). Bear in mind this song is over 7 months old, and I made it when I was starting out on music, I just thought I'd upload it for valentines (though I missed it by one day :P). I try not to use the default fl kit now, since I have actually downloaded packs containing more kicks.

This is the most useful review on here, since you have actually provided very good constructive criticism. I do have a soundcloud, and would post on there more often, but no promotion means no views and that is disheartening.

Dude, you should see the amount of unfinished projects I have. I got loads to do lol, especially from my days when I only used sytrus (kill me).

Thanks for the review! <3

Quite the transition from the last song I heard from you. I like how this turned out man!!

I really need to learn les wubs...

Can't wait to see more from you!

This is interesting. It is kind of hard to place a genre on it so I see why it is Miscellaneous. You never fail to surprise me.

Keep this up!

Frictional responds:

Thanks again for the support Bradley! :)
Also, this is considered a chill track, but it's not chill house, because it's pace is 130 BPM, which is too fast for an house track. I just put it under miscellaneous because chill genre is not included on Newgrounds. :)
Tom should think about adding some genres to the list, like Hardcore, Chill or Glitch Hop.
